NEOACS is proud to sponsor the Young Scientist Award for high school students interested in a career in science.  The application consists of a 500 word essay and a supporting letter of recommendation from the applicant’s science teacher or Science Olympiad coach.  Cash prizes will be given to the top three applicants ($600, $300, $200 respectively) as determined by our Executive Committee.  Additionally, the top ten applicants will each receive a chemistry-themed memento, certificate, and invitation to the NEOACS 2018 Award banquet dinner. The application deadline is April 18, 2018.  The application form can be found on our website:

College / Career Plans:  What are you planning to do after you graduate high school?
National Chemistry Week (NCW) is a community based program of the American Chemical Society (ACS). This annual event unites ACS local sections, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life.

The 2018 NCW theme is "Outerspace:
Chemistry is Out of This World!"
