Carol Duane wins ACS Award for Volunteer Service 2018

The Northeastern Ohio Local Section is proud that one of our own, Carol Duane, was named winner of the 2018 Award for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society. Created in 2001, the award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to ACS’s goals and objectives. FULL STORY

Richard West named NEOACS Volunteer of the Year 2017

The Northeastern Ohio Local Section is proud to recognize Richard West, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Lake Erie College as the NEOACS Volunteer of the Year for 2017. He served as secretary for two years (2016-2017). He coordinated guest speakers for the Young Scientist Award Banquets (2016-17) and the Agricultural Winery Forum in 2016. He provided technical reviews of event summaries for the ACS annual report. He introduced the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad event into our local section in 2017. FULL STORY

NEOACS Announcements

"Dive into Marine Chemistry" Poem Contest: Open to grades K-12! Email for your entry form. Winners for each category will win $50, two tickets for the Cleveland Aquarium, and an invitation to our annual Young Scientist Award banquet in May 2018. Entries due April 8, 2018.

Young Scientist Award: Open to high school students. The application consists of a 500 word essay about Outerspace and a recommendation letter. Applications are due April 11, 2018.
